Background:
As part of my internship at “natur&ëmwelt” in 2017, I had the chance to visit the bird ringing station Schlammwiss. Here I quickly realized that I was not contented with my "garden birds knowledge”.
With each visit, my enthusiasm for ornithology grew bigger, not only due to the close contact with the birds but also because of the team that passionately shared their knowledge.
Due to my studies in Biology, I acquired a solid knowledge in ecology, which studies the interactions among living beings and their environment. For my master thesis I eventually decided to choose a topic in the ornithological field. Thereupon I found myself in the Kitzbühel Alps looking for feces of grouse… ;-).
The experience in field ornithology and the regular ringing and monitoring sessions in the nature reserve Schlammwiss gave me a basic knowledge in ornithology. Since spring 2019 I have been working at the Luxembourgish ornithological Station (COL) at natur&ëmwelt. So I not only come into regular contact with the ringing station through my work, but I also enjoy spending time there in my free time and learning more about the fascinating world of birds.
